Yes, Ole Thumper is red and tan with very little white. When you was describing Ace it sounded like you were describing Thumper. I ran him today in some real thick briars and he and a 8 month old Bramlett female I have made my other dogs look bad. For a big dog the thick stuff doesn't bother him. If he lock on the track in the thick briars, he's gone!

My brother-in-law has purchased 5 hounds and I purchsaed 1, from Blue Sly kennel. Our experience has been that Bob's dogs are either very good or very bad. One had to be shot because he was an unbreakable back tracker, and one so spooky and shy that you couldn't get near him(I am aware of a few others that were returned because of shyness). The dogs we kept are still in our kennels, and are hard driving no quit hounds, equally as good on cottontails or hare. My understanding is that those that were returned, due to shyness, the owners were given refunds or another pup no questions asked.
This was not meant to be a slam, only convey my experience with Blue Sly Kennel. The bottom line, would I purchase another dog from Bob ? YES.

I have debated that one myself, not sure if the shyness came from lack of socialization, or inherited trait. When I purchased my pup (5 1/2 months old at the time) Bob had about 30-40 dogs of all ages , and lot of pups. I really couldn't see how their would have been enough time in a day, to give much individual attention to a pup.
