My nephew waqs the breeder on that litter. He was sold as a puppy to a realtor friend of ours.He was hunted a little but I dont think he was trialed. The realtor friend got too busy to do anything with his dogs so he sold him to Paul Abel who goes by CPC on this board.Paul got him in shape and put him in some trials.I think that he did very well from the getgo.I guess Paul sold him to you or maybe to someone else.I had not heard. My nehew sold Paul the Law dog and the last I knew he still had her.Jason Tackett has a littermate to your dog(or did the last I heard)and his name is also Fasttrack.Your hound is a very nice looking dog.Good Luck with him.

pup

Post by mrwvsportsman »

Fastrack,
I would be interested in seeing your dogs also. Man I couldnt accept a free pup from you. But I would like to see what you have. I have been looking for a good chocolate line for a while now. I will keep track of this thread and when I get home I will hit you guys up. I really appreciate it. I will try to post a pick of the chocolate pup I do have. I dont know if I am going to keep him though. He is very timid and doesnt seem like he is going to come out of it. Take care guys. Should be home by March. Its been a long year!

MRWVSPORTSMAN,
In my opinion this is the best all chocalate line out there. There's not that many chocalate beagles out there that I know of. Just let me know when you get home and we might be able to get together.
Thanks and God Bless

JMurphy,
Does your nephew still raise chocolate's? Paul sold him to one more man before I purchased him. He's only been in 5 trials I think and already has his win and 2nd and a 6th I believe. A friend of mine got hte Law bitch off of Paul she's nearly 10 and can still hang in there. Do you know how I can get in touch with Jason? Thanks for the compliments.

Pete and Fastrack,
If you click here this is a pic of the pup I have. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ohiohuntingbeagles/
I was really hoping he would turn out so I could use him as a stud, but so far, it looks like I may have to get rid of him when I get home. My father in law brought him inside and is trying to get him to come around and it is helping a little but I just dont have the time to work with a dog that is that timid.
Pete where are you in KY? I have to come out there and get a Deaton's Black Magic pup when I get home, maybe we can get together then. He is a grandson to Magic on top and Bottom. He looks like the pup on the bottom of Fastrack's post with the 2 dogs. Take care and keep em hoppin!

My nephew hasnt fooled with dogs for a little while now.We only have one red dog now and it is a different bloodline from what you are wanting.Laws Dam was a dog I picked up as a pup out of Mississippi when I was living in Memphis,Tn.That dogs name was Murphy's red lady but she was so dark as a pup that My Dad thought she was black. The funny thing is that she also went back to Floyd Adams dogs (Adams Red River stuff). that you will see in alot of your pedigrees She is one heck of a Mama dog and tends to produce nice pups. You can prob find Jason on this board .He gets on here from time to time .Lynn Perkins can provide you with a way to contact him. I imagine all the the Outlaws are in Vansant Virginia today but if you address a post to Lynn he will eventually respond. If you are liking what you are seeing with these lines you might look into the Comanche Tracker stuff .I liked what he produced a bunch.Hope I helped.

Thought I would throw in another note. The Law dog that your friend has was a Grand bench Champ when she was 9 months old.

i like what i get out of the adams red river, ellison ridge redman, halftrack, commache tracker, amos and bramlett stuff. they make fine rabbit dogs and 90 percent or better are deer proof from the get go for me and they handle and hunt good. i feed them and i enjoy them.

Pine Mt Chester

Post by mrwvsportsman »

Pete,
Is the Chester dog yours? I have a Cress female and I have been told that Cress throws alot of reds. If Chester throws alot of chocolates, this may be a good cross. I just got her and she has a litter right now that is about 3 weeks old. I saw her run before I left and the guy I got her from is here with me now. She has incredible hunt and pretty good speed. Really nice dog, she is the best in my kennel right now. Is this Chester still at stud? That may be another option. I do want to try to breed in some chocolate into my line but color isnt everything. Just something to play with. Thanks man.

Mike

Mike,
Chester belongs to Bobby and Allen Vest. They are in Shelbyville KY. Bobby's cell # is 502-593-4060. He can answer any question that you have. I do know that he is still breeding him and he does throw a few chocolate/red pups, but not every litter. I don't think you will go wrong by breeding to him. You will almost certainly get good rabbit dogs. Good luck.

Finally made it back

Post by mrwvsportsman »

Hey guys,
I finally made it back to the states. I have made one trip to KY to pick up a pup. He is a really nice pup. Grandson to Deaton's Black Magic on the top and bottom. I am looking for a good coppernose still. If you guys have any this spring or know anyone who does, please let me know. Thanks for your help.

Mike
