He is out of AKC FdWnr Branko's Blue Beard (IFC Branko's Lumberjack X Branko's Baba Janet) and Jim's Primetime Dixie
(FC Brent's Primetime X FdWnrHills Hardrockin Wendy). Dixie was a littermate sister to FC Hills Primetime Trailblazer. Willis is a good dog with a win in AKC SPO in NY. I know he has done well in little pack also. I bred and sold the dog when he was about a year and a half old to Jared. When I sold him he was doing a super job and had a superior nose(could get him in trouble!) and good foot. I liked the dog but I couldn't get him measured in as he tends to bend the bar a little. I don't think that will hurt his ability as a reproducer as he was the biggest in his litter of four with one being a true 13" hound. Jared has apparently done a good job with him.

I don't understand if you can't get him measured in how does Jared get him measured in? I seen him on the cover of the rabbit hunter and he looks to be at least 17" tall. How tall is he exactly?

I am sure he is a nice dog but if the rule says 15" why do run a dog that you know is over I have sold some real nice hounds just because they were over, to me if you run a dog that is over and you know it that is cheating because it is breaking a rule. The dog has won some good hunts, but could he have won them if all the dogs entered in the hunt was 17" ?

blame arha for allowing it to go on.they are the one who put loop holes in there rules.the cast members are the one who got to protest the dog to get it measure.how many time have you been in a cast you see a dog oversizes and said nothing.if that dog win the cast and you know its over.are you guilty of cheating by not saying nothing

I have seen this subject kicked around alot. I have seen 13" dogs beat the far out of 16" hounds many times. I seen mr. wilson and he may run a little over 15, but not much. He is not a 17" hound (even though I have ran against a couple). I would guess him at the 15-15 1/4 mark. Depends on who judges him. I say just let the dogs run.

I have seen wilson run and he is extremely powerful with a big nose. As far as his size goes. If you are talking about measuring for a trial he will always measure under 15 inches because you can't make him stand, so by trial standards he is a 15 inch beagle and legal, nuff said. If you are talking about real life size, he is over 15 and he aint 15 1/4 either. I would guess he is somewhere between 15 1/2 to 16 inches. He is a definite powerhouse and is hard to deal with in a Little pack trial.

He is a nice hound I have watche ran against and judged Wilson. I would consider him 1 of the better hounds running LP right now. I think Ole Jared is getting better with age too.

this is right out of the rule book im not knocking jarred or his dog ive seen him run and think he is a nice dog but i have a male that is just as big that i wont run in little pack because i know he is over and he would do good in little pack like i said im not knocking anyone just posting the rule for everyone to see

section VII paragraph 9 page 11
When being measured, a hound shall be standing in a natural, alert position with
its head up but not stretched upward and with its feet well under the hound and
forelegs vertical. The hound shall be placed on a non-slippery surface at floor or
ground level. The hound shall not be required to be posed, or set up as in a bench
show pose by the measurer. The Breed Inspector may request the handler’s
assistance in getting the hound to stand up. If the handler refuses to help
then the hound is scratched and turned in to the ARHA Office for being too
tall.

The rule is fine, the problem is you can assist all you want, he aint going to stand proud. I have seen many others that wouldn't stand so he ain't the only one. Not saying I agree with it, just stating the facts. The dog flat out will not stand. Crabtree, you are right he gutted all three of us that day, thank god for that cane or we would have never caught up with him. LOL As for Jared, well he is alright with me, I have always been treated fair by him.
