gay bred hounds

...on the ancestry of your new hound? This is your forum. Post your question and others will fill in the blanks for you. This is also a good forum for asking about particular hounds and bloodlines (past or present) when considering a breeding or purchase, or just breeding questions in general.

From what I've seen, Gay bred dogs have above avg. hunt, med./med. fast speed, pretty good line control, most are very good looking hounds and a little extra mouth is their biggest fault. If you run ARHA LP, gay dog will be a step too slow. I've got a few in my kennels and they're good dogs, but geared more towards SPO than LP.

Here are a couple website's. The first site is of Frank Reese the breeder of the Gay Hounds.

To old to cut the mustard, you can always run beagles

I had some a few years ago, that had hard hunt and decent speed. They were linebred back to Gay Time instead of Baker, with a cross of New City Crusier. Actually granded four out in little pack.
