Doubling up on Ace In The Hole

Post by MGB »

Anyone ever made a cross doubling up on Ace In The Hole? If so how did the pups turn out? Is too much Ace good or bad?

There are a lot of good dogs out of ace in the hole.
I have seen some with ace in the hole top and bottom in the pedigree.

It is so far back you need to look hard at the dogs between Ace and the dogs you are breeding.

Putting Ace in the top and bottom should be no different than any other dog that you see top and bottom.

I have one in my kennel.

The sire is Kiesters Slammin Sammy(Out of Ace)
The Dame is Talkabout Precious (Out of Ace)

1/2 brother and sister directly out of Ace in the Hole

Best hound I have ever owned. If Hoog made the cross again I'd buy the whole litter.

Paul's RJ dog is the real deal. I have a dog out of RJ bred back to a female that was out of Ace. She is doing a real job as well. Most Ace dogs I have seen have all day hunt and stamina running, with big noses and line control. According to what they are crossed with.

double Ace

Post by uplander44 »

Every dog I own is double Ace In The Hole bred, all but the exception of one that is directly out of Ace on her topside. She is out of Buckeyes Jack&Jills Babe on the bottom who is out of Brankos Jack of all Trades. When she comes into heat here in a couple of months I am seriously thinking about breeding her to Sundown Mk 5's King who is also out of Ace in the Hole on the top and Brankos RTK JB Babe on the bottom who is out of Branko's Ali Babba.I am doing this because any dog out there who is diractly put of Ace is 8 to 9 yrs old right at this time and soon they will be gone and then we will be dealing only with the grandchildren. Also Alfred Deel of Delaware Oh. 740-816-3290 owns an exceptional dog called Horseshoe Run Prince who is directly out of Ace and a fully bred New City dog on the bottom(no Branko) and I have seen him double up many times by using bitches out of Princes brother from another litter to produce fine dogs.If you are really interested in this you should give him a call @ the posted no.he has been breeding dogs for 50 yrs. and if you go to run with him he will take you right out there in Delaware and show you any dog you want to see and you can also run your dogs with him.Alfred has sold dogs to Farell Smith,Roger Gene Smith, and many other reputable houndsmen.I hope this helps Vic

I have a Indian Hills Nightrain female that has Ace in the Hole in the third generation and I bred her to Alfred Deel's hound Horseshoe Run Prince(direct son of Ace in the Hole X New City breeding) and got nine pups (6)males (3) females. I kept them all to make sure I'd have the very best one in the litter. That would be doubling up on Ace in the Hole because the pups are 31% Ace in the hole. I hope to breed to another direct son of Ace in the Hole the first part of next year. John

No I am just looking and trying to decide. I have always liked the Ace stuff but have been very cautious of the size so it would have to be the right female on the other side to even interest me. I talked to Don Lecount the other day about his FC. Stine Time Oops It's a Chase dog since Ranger Dan males are an interest also. It seems the FC. Pine Acres Molly was a good cross with Dan since he was a top procuder and Molly also. Plus his fee is olny $200 too. I have not ruled out your Rogue dog but with all the time I have I am just thinking about which way I want to go.

No, not yet. I was going to give you a call when I found out that you have a direct son out of Ace in the Hole, but I haven't had time. I was suppose to be going to Ohio the 23rd of this month to see Laron Williams' hound Horseshoe Run Gabe. I don't know if I'll be able to make that trip now because I'll be working. I've been saying since Oct. that I was going to take a trip to look at some good studs out of Ace in the Hole and it hasn't happened yet. John

Hey JAW, He's a pretty nice dog. Gets busy off the tailgate.....I like that in a male.

I bred one of my Sambo females to him. Don't know if it took or not yet. It was late in her cycle when I bred her. Should be a good cross.

Gimme a call if you are interested in breeding to him.
