Branko's Cheyenne and One Tuff Ombre Cross
Any info. on dogs from this breeding?
I have an Ombre sired female by a Syris McGee bred female. I am happy with the results. The only two things on a negetive I could see were, the females were late starters and that is not the normal for my breeding. But once they started they caught on quickly. And most of the males grew past 15", but were well above average running hounds. Now the dam to these pups was out of a Pacesetter breeding, and I have noticed it sometimes produces bigger hounds but your guess is as good as mine. I have had a great gun year with my female, and Len Rheaume has a littermate sister that he also likes. Bill Ennis kept two males and is very happy.
Please remember that you will not see tuffy's production power for a little while, as most of his pups are very young and have not made their marks yet. I think in time he will be known as a producer, and my advise is dont wait yrs to find out as he may then be gone. Make your cross and do your evaluation of the outcome. He is bred from some of the finest Branko dogs and you dont have a trial record like his because he sucked. He also has outstanding conformation and is one of the more houndy branko dogs out there. Hope this helped you.

Ombre
I have had experience with about 9 ombre pups....have 7 in my kennel now. I only sold two of them for being oversize or under sized. I have ony been trialing for about 3 yrs...and still have a lot to learn. But the ombre dog is definitely my favorite. They all have been very easy to start, very aggressive hunt, a good natured dog all around. I trialed my oldest one, will be 3 in May...from 16 mons old...which is too young. But he went to the winners pack every time! Only placed once, but that is due to starting him too young and my inexperience. But i am working with him . I have three 2 yr olds, that are really nice dogs, they are super rabbit dogs at this time, but only time will tell as far as to what they do in trials. The females are the same...they all come from different Branko bitches so they each do have some different traits, some faster, more line control and such. But all super dogs.
Tuffy pup
I have a Tuffy female out of a Lumber Jack X Ninja cross that is <1year. She has excellant conformation, a solid 14", a class act in the field, more than enough foot, handles very well, runs a fairly good line, perfect chop clean mouth, hunts a check very hard, will move out on a check, honors other hounds extremely well. She started fairly easy and in the wild I might add. Did have to shock her on a deer once but haven't had any more problems there. She shows alot of sense and is a kids dog deluxe. She is a little noisy and excitable in the kennel but that doesn't bother me. She will get a little lazy and depend on the older hounds in the pack about busting the briars here in south central Ms. if the pack has to hunt for an extended period of time without finding a rabbit. But I do see improvement here as she gets a little older. I've only heard reports on one of her mates and it was good. I guess you can see that I'm pretty proud of her at this point. I have high hopes for her.
