I did the same minus the aluminum. I like the pvc pigrail. I did not use a heat lamp, I use a heating pad. It distributes the heat to the pups and dogs and can be used most of the year because of the thermostat. It does not get too hot on them and will not "scorch" thier hair or cause hot spots. Easy to clean and very efficient. Here is a link to the guy I got mine from.PBJ wrote:I made mine out of wood. I copied the dimentions off of Seneca's whelper on Seneca's website. Works just fine. Even made the pigrail out of pvc. Put Aluminum around opening so they don't chew the opening up.
36" heigh? If you use pigrails you won't have quite 24" x 24" and I highly recommend pigrails. I don't like the welping box too tall. Makes it harder for the pups to stay warm.tenntreedog wrote:Is 36x24x24 with actual welping bin 24x24 large enough?
How high do you make your pigrails from the bottom of the box? Thanks, tinymwoods wrote:36" heigh? If you use pigrails you won't have quite 24" x 24" and I highly recommend pigrails.
