how good are the sun shade tops 4 kennels

i seen some at lowe's the other day and was wondering if they work good,i got a 20'x30' area to cover we were goin to put a tin roof over it,but that is going to cost alot!... just looking for different ideas that don't cost alot !!!.....thanks for any help yall can give me.

I have had both I prefer the tin roofs they donot let the rain in.

We have 2 10x10 chain-link kennels next to each other, & had problems with the tarps not lastin in the weather. So I put 2x4's acrossed them & wired them to the top of the kennels, & then I screwed 12 ft. pieces of Gal. tin crossways to the 2x4's. I left about a 6 " gap between each piece of tin. Everything stayed put & didn't blow away. I think leavin a gap between each piece of tin kept the wind from pickin it up. But havin a gap, it still gets wet underneath, but it helps alot with the sun.

I have one on a 10x10 kennel, and am getting ready to set up two more kennels with the covers over them as well. I like the covers( I got mine at Lowe's also), and am planning to use them on the other two kennels. I did have to put a tarp on the side of the kennel that is set up now to block the sun the way it is situated, but it is working well for me.

deerstalker, you can buy a shade tarp for the side of the kennel to help with the sun.

I bought a couple not long ago, they work great.

Thanks for the link to the website! Those are definately cheaper than lowes. I think I paid about 50 bucks for mine that is 10x10. Mine is supposed to block 80% of the sun I think, but I don't think there is much difference in this one or the one I bought.

If'n you want to be economical, I'll let you in on my secrete. Id been see'n these jump-o-lean things all 'round ev'er ones houses and figured at some point these thing would be com'in apart or unsafe fer the kids to jump on. Well, I finally got me a couple cause one the spring hook-ups was a pull'n out the stich'n, and the other, the kids had growed up and the feller was tired mow'n round it.
Took one put over the kennel pannels fer shade and the other I put 1 X 2" wielded wire 'round the frame and used it fer a puppy pen. Made a dandy pen, probably 12' 'round and the pups can run in circles chase'n each other...
Now don't tell anybody or I won't be able to find any more fer free and theys lible to start charg'n me for um...Good luck on yurs and like grandma said, "watch yer pennies and them $ will take care their selves...
