Material for Dog Floor and Sides

What can I put inside the dog house, both on the floor and walls, to prevent urine from penetrating the wood? Does anyone use linoleum? If so, can the dogs destroy it by scratching or chewing?

Mine would eat the lino in no time! We spray all wood once a year with a mixture of diesel fuel and motor oil. Empty the kennel-and surrounding area- on a scorching hot day and spray a fine mist of this stuff on every wooden surface. Once it dries -which doesn't take to long in the heat- the wood is like it has been water proofed! And it keeps bugs away! We also try to start at a young age to keep them from messing inside their houses--thats what the runs are for!

P.A. Beagler, I missunderstood your ? when you emailed me. sorry. I have not had this problem of hounds going bathroom in box's. but i have used a product in my dog box i put on my hunting truck. It is fiberglass milkhouse board i bought it from home depot, it comes in white, gray and i think they make black now. It's over by the paneling for the bathroom products. I put it on the inside of my dogbox because i was getting alot of moisture soaking the plywood from wet hounds running in the snow. This cured the problem of the plywood getting wet. I used PL400 to glue it up and caulked all the seems with silicon. Hope this helps.

Rabbit Fever,

Thanks for the response. I will have to go to Home Depot and take a look at it.
