New Puppy Pen

Post by jogletree »

This is a brood pen, I have been tinkering with. I have run out of time before my litter is going to be here and had to improvise a little, but I think it will work. I used the open pen part off of one I made about a year ago. I just built the box for a new larger pen, but haven't had time to finish the pen part. What do you think?

It looks good. My only concern is that when the pups 1st learn to walk they might fall out through the bottom holes in the wire, they're awfull big.

I agree with Steve, the bottom holes are too big. The bottom strands of my whelping box are 2" x 2" and I had a pup get its head hung in there last year for a hour or so at 4 weeks old, luckily it didn't hurt it.
Expecting a carjacker or rapist or drug pusher to care that his possession or use of a gun is unlawful is like expecting a terrorist to care that his car bomb is taking up two parking spaces

You should be able to fix the wire issue pretty easily but I think the floor is going to give you some cleaning headaches too. OTHERWISE it is very nice and should make the new Mom feel very safe and content.
BTW, is the beagle model the pregnant one? Doesn't look very far along if she is???
