some pics. of my dog kennel

Post by crittergitter65 »

been wanting to post these for awhile,
got done with my kennel last summer and took some pictures, let me know what you think.

i started with a 10 by 16 amish shed then poured the concrete, built the runs and finished the inside. it's completely insulated walls and ceiling, and is very easy to heat.
the top of the dog houses open for easier access. the whelping box has it's own thermometer, with the sensor hdden from chewing pups so i can monitor the inside temp. without disturbing the mother.
each dog house has a spring loaded door to keep the heat in during winter,i just hook the doors open in the summer.

you can see my whelping box in the back right corner, it is heated with two 100 watt light bulbs with a dimmer switch so i can control the temp. inside it's two compartments the main whelping area and a small area for food and water.

thanks for looking,it took me awhile to finish, but i think it turned out pretty good. Lee

Very very nice. I am adding an above ground for my gals, so this sure helps when you can see the finished product. Wonderful work.

Thanks everyone for looking, and for all the kind words about my kennel.

FrancoMo1678: the five gallon bucket on the side is used for cleanup of the pens, the water goes from the bucket down into a piece of pvc pipe with small holes drilled in it and soaks the floor for easy cleaning of the pens.

thanks, Lee
