We are not carpenters by any means, but were sure pleased with the way it turned out. It has a divider in the middle and a house on each end. The house on the left side was built bigger so it can double as a whelping kennel. A buddy of mine back in Michigan gave me the idea by building me a little smaller version of the same thing a few years back, and we just kind of added a little more space to this one. Thanks Jeff! We didn't use many nails. The whole kennel was put together with screws, drilling a pilot hole before each screw was put in.(10 lbs. of screws!) It comes apart in sections to make it easier to move if needed. We did use some aluminum roofing nails to attach the plywood for the roof. Those go into a 2 x 4 frame that is screwed in on the sides and removable as well. I got the wire for the floor and sides through a company my work deals with. We also ordered a rubber roof for it thats glued down, and attached under the overhang all the way around with stainless tacking strips and screws. Very nice set up. It looks real strong and sturdy. Good job.

Brushbuster, The kennel is 12' long, and the inside width is 4' wide. Outside width is about 51". I made a 4'x8' frame out of 1 1/2" angle iron, and welded the grating to that. I primered and then plasti-coated the galvanized wire and the frame. The dog house on the left side used for whelping is 30"x48" The one on the right is 18"x48". Both houses have 1" foam insulation in them as well. The roof has a 6" overhang on the front and back, and a 4" overhang on the sides. The legs are 24" high. I used a angle iron divider in the middle of the grating frame, and the divider for the kennel sits on top of that. Hope this helps.

OK, Ya got me Carl! She even made me hold the roofing nails while she hammered them in. My fingers are still black and blue! Sharon kept saying it was an accident, but I'm starting to wonder! She lets me clean out from under it though! LOL

Nice kennel !!! What size holes are in the bottom wire and where did you get the platic coating / name of it ?

The bottom wire has 1" x 2" holes, and I ordered it through a steel supplier my work deals with. It's welded galvanized, and I also got the spray on plastic coating through work. I have a friend that used the same material as the spray in duraliner for truck beds to plastic coat his wire as well.
