I've decided to put either gravel dust, pea gravel, or small gravel on the floor of my kennels, w/ treated 2x4s or 2x6s around the sides to keep it it. What would you all recommend?

As long as you put it on a high spot that drains well, and not in a hole, you should do ok... ;)

Lowe's has those 2' X 2' concrete squares, you could slowly convert it over to those, if the rock becomes a mess...

We did this at one time Works Great and looks good to..
The biggest problem we had was with Stuff getting in between the pavers. To stop this what I did was take masons Sand pour it out broom it over real good and wet it down will pack like concreate after repeated washings it tends to go away So will need to redo now and again.
Had a fella tell me that if you used sacreate like the sand it would work like a morter or groute never got a chance to try it before we moved but sounds like it would work.....
