I have found that the plastic lattice flooring that I thought was a good Idea ended up being a bad one. My dogs chewed the crap out of it, to the point of them almost escaping. So now I have installed some wood deck rails that a 2 inch square by the width of the cage. Here are some pics.

The wood deck rails look like a good idea & it will work very well for a while the problem I had with it is that it will turn green & the wood will hold bactiera & that can make your dogs sick best thing we have found is T.E. scott floor panel

I haven't had any trouble with the lattice. I raised three different litters on it and liked it a lot. ANd one of the mama dogs was a notorious chewer.

I wouldn't consider a dog worth it's salt if it didn't eat through that lattice in a day or so, at the least mine certainly would.

They will chew on the wood also. They will dig and scrach until it is splinters. AT least some will. That is why you see so many kennels with wire flooring.
