Jr. I have about 4" of pea gravel on top of 2x4 welded wire to keep em from diggin out. Makes clean up a breeze, about 5 min. for 4 dogs.I put down pelletized lime about three tim es a year for odor control. It's better than dirt until we can get concrete done. Dave

Yes, I have a 12x20 barn with 2- 10x12 kennels on each side.I have work benches full length inside, down both sides and the coops are underneath,i can open the whole door to change bedding or a smaller door within the door to feed and water.I plan on adding 2 -6x 18 kennels on the back side. Hope that helps JR.,sorry it took so long to respond! Dave

I use pea gravels in my kennels also. It works great, but I would like to concrete them.

Concrete with a light broom finish with a slope of a 1/2" per foot. The light broom finish is not hard on the pads and keeps the nails short. The slope makes clean up easy, just hose down, squeegee and it dries quickly. Pea gravel is ok but you end up removing some gravel every time you pick up and the dogs stay allot cleaner on concrete.
