The best thing about concrete is it keeps the dogs feet conditioned. And toe nails trimmed.

I use limestone. Good filtration for waste and the the lime in the stone helps cut down on bacteria.

Concrete is easy to clean & have not seen many fleas. Only had dogs on for 1 yr. they do not sem to mind & feet appear to be doing OK.

I also heard a guy say he put a layer of stone then a 5in. layer of fine beach type sand. He told me it would also keep there nails trimmed and if they wanted to dig the sand would fall back in also making it easy to clean. Does any one have any comments on this? THANKS

I have cement kennels and have had no problems at all. I also think a wire cage would be OK.
