I went to the local lumber yard's "cull" pile of lumber. I wasn't too picky. I tried to got all the green treated lumber I could but had to settle for a lot of regular pine. I will have to paint for sure.
I used 4X4's for the legs. I ripped a bunch of green treated 2x4's and 2x6's for the floor. I spaced the slats on the floor 3/4" apart. I used 7/16 osb (also cull @ $3.50 a piece! and it was in great shape) for the roof and ends. I put a pitch on the roof for rain to run off.
I went to the local tractor supply store to find the fencing wire for the sides. I couldn't believe how thin and that 2x3" rabbit fencing stuff was. They wanted like $40.00 for enough to do the kennel. I went outside of the store where they have their cattle and horse panels. I found the perfect stuff. It was 5' for 12' horse heavy horse panel for $39.99. Kennel is 2.5' from floor to eve the 5' fit perfect, just cut it in half. Had to use bolt cutters to do it. It's nice and heavy stuff.
Where you see my tools sitting is where the dog house will go. It will be 4' by 2' and 20' high down to 18" for a sloped roof. I plan on insulating it as well.
For some reason my pictures are cut in half. Can't figure out what I"m doing.
