Too Early To Compete?

I am looking at getting started on trials along with my two pups. A trial is coming up in our area and I would love to take that opportunity to start close to home. Problem is, my pups won't be 6 months until the following week. Is that close enough for them to compete, or will they be denied the opportunity until the following week? Thanks for the help.

6 months is way too early unless you are talking about a bench show

I might put one in a derby trial at that age but that would be it.
