i have a young hound that is doing great at running rabbit's, the only problem that im having is when he is running and my other hound's are running a different rabbit he pull's off of his to help them. how do i break him of doing this.

Does he run w/ them normally? If so, you must have a lot of rabbits for X chases to be a real prob.

I'd think soloing him will give him a little more independence and will keep him on the track he's on.

Many people do not see this as a problem. Many want the dog to join in the race and "pack up" with the other hounds. Then go run the other one after the first one is finished.

Why didnt the other dogs pack in with him? Are they running their rabbit first, then the young dog goes off on his/her own and starts another one? One or the other had to start first, the real question is why did he or they break off?

If you want him to hold his own rabbit, solo time is about the only thing you can do that I can think of. Get his confidence up running his own rabbit.
