Puppies scratching/clawing each others head

Post by Redfan »

I've got 3 8-week old pups sharing a 4 x 8 above ground pen. They are constantly play-fighting and two of them have bad scratches on the tops of their heads. The one female appears to be the problem cause her head has almost no scratches, the other female and the male are scratched up bad, scabs, a little swollen etc. I recently trimmed their claws hoping that would help. Has anyone else seen this with their pups? It's our first litter and not sure if we should worry about it or not. Any advice would be appreciated.

My pups scratch each other up from time to time when they are rough hausing. It's no big deal, justt try to keep their toe nails clipped.
