Doc S.
My sister and her husband have a 5 +y.o. king sheppard. He had ex-rays done some years ago and showed mild hip dysplasia. Sometimes he is good for awhile, then it gets worse. My sister took him to the vet the other day and they also diagnosed him with (LIMBRO SUCRO) SP!! After doing more ex -rays on him.
Put him on something that is supposed to be a wonder drug for that. Well I must not be spelling it right because I cant get anywhere looking it up on the internet. Could you help me out?
Thanks for your time

 Sorry bout that Doc!
Metacam sounds like the one. Have you heard of Limbro Sucro? I dont think the spelling is right. I believe it has something to do with degeneration of the spine?? We do know that eventually surgury will be the option for the displaysia which was quoted at 1200.00, so I want to find out their options for the other issue.
Thanks for being so quick
Take care

You are after "Lumbo-Sacral Disease". It is basically arthritis at the junction between the lumbar spine and the sacrum. Can also end up being a surgical condition, but would need to speak with a neuro-surgeon for more information.

Sorry I didnt get back on sooner Doc,
Been busy. My sister took him to an ortho and he says there is a small bone spur. He also said the displasia hasnt changed from the first exray. One hip is good, but where the bone spur is his body is building more bone around it. The Lumbro-sacral is not as bad as the other vet thought either. They took him off the Metacam and started him on something else for a trial of two weeks to take out the inflamation. If it is working well then they will keep him on it for another four weeks and recheck him. He doesnt think surgury will be needed anytime soon. My sister said Rambo is actually six. He is the biggest sheppard I have ever seen.
Anyways thanks for taking the time for my questions.
