Problem with heat cycle

We have a female that has never gone into full heat. Day 1 we notice blood, by day 3 or 4 nothing. No swelling at all. 3 or 4 days and that's it. Is there anything on the market we could give her to cycle normaly. She is 5 yrs old. Maybe a change in diet? Any info would be appreciated greatly.

A raw diet is optimal; however many bitches have what are called "silent heats," regardless of what you feed them, to where no matter what you do you really can't see much swelling or discharge.

Therefore, in cases like these you will have to use a blood serum progesterone kit in order to exactly target ovulation.

Also, keeping them in an above-ground pen makes spotting their first day of heat easier as 1) they aren't dirty and 2) the blood stains can be seen on the wood planks, whereas they cannot be seen in the dirt.

She is in an above ground kennel. Thanks for the info.
