bleeding tail need help
I have a 3 yr. old dog with this bad bleeding tail ,I have read on here about banding and need to know what type of band and where you get it any info. please bigjack.
Re: bleeding tail need help
get them at --TSC--get the ones for lamb tails -smallest ---you also need the tool to put them on --put the band between the joints--- the dog will get a little jumpy at first -with in 5--10 mins. the tail will be numb and the dog will keep on hunting --2-3 weeks the tail will fall off

If you band it your self pull the skin back from the tip get all the slack out you can. It makes a cleaner looking tip and the loose skin will cover the tip and grow hair better.

it will soften the spot where it bleeds -- but still will bleed ---I just put a band on of my best female tonight --while running today --when the dogs can by she was 20-40 yrds. behind just wobbling along -no bark --I new something was wrong she is the lead dog on about every race --she would bleed but not bad --well today she was dripping alot of blood --in fact she laid down when I got her caught and didn't want to lead at all --I have a first aid kit in the truck with blood stop and bandage --had to use black tape to hold in on to stop the blood --I will give her credit she never quit --put her on some blood builder and will lay her for a couple days
