I have always used the safegaurd cattle, sheep and goat liquid wormer in the green and yellow big bottle. I saw the horse wormer in farm store today and am about out of wormer so thought i would get some. I use 1cc per 5 pds of the liquid 3 days in a row for tapes. I was wondering what is the dosing of the horse paste would be? Thanks in Advance Scott

yes it is the same dose

bottle is marked out in 100 pds do you just suck it out of the tube with a syringe and measure that way

MERCK book says two time a day 1cc per 4.4 lbs. for [3] days

You may want to check with your vet or one of the more knowledgable houndsman on here to be sure but fendbendazole (active ingredient in safeguard) will not get all tapes. If your gonna use horse wormer for tapes go with equimax,active ingredient is praziquantel, it also has ivermectin so skip your heartwormer for that month as well.

my vet uses safegaurd for 3 days at 1cc per 5 pds and tells me to fast them 1 and 3rd day. I have never had any issues after using it just wondered if the horse paste was a different concentration but I will ask him about the praziquantel. I have never had much trouble with tapes especially after using the flea nd tick medicine.

im new using this stuff.so i guess its best to suck it up in a syringe 1cc per 5 lbs 3 days in a row .will this get whip worms as well?

Safe guard will not get tapes I have used zimectrin gold or equimax
