Help on pups medication

Post by beagler »

Maybe a stupid question but this is my first litter of pups. How tdo you go about the medication. What type the age to give the medicine. How many times and such other things i should do. They was born today. I had the female wormed out good before she was bred. Many told to do that. But need more info from here on out.

Thanks for any help.

We just raised a litter and though this may not be how everyone does it, this is what our vet had us do.
He saw the pups their first week to remove the dew claws and examine them, he also examined the mother of pups at this time to make sure she was doing OK. He then had us worm them at 4 and 6 weeks, then they went back to him at 8 weeks for another full exam, worming and 1st set of shots.
Good Luck with your pups!

I worm at 2, 4 and 6 weeks of age. Puppy shots at 6,8,10 and 12 weeks, rabies shot (as required by law in Illinois) at 16 weeks.
If you can't run with the BIG DOGS stay on the porch!
