Nemex 2 is a weak wormer with the active ingredient Pyrantel Pamoate.

Compare Nemex 2 here: http://www.revivalanimal.com/Nemex-2-an ... -Tabs.html
Liquid: Contains 4.54 mg/mL of Pyrantel base as Pyrantel pamoate
Dosage: Give 1 tsp (5cc) per 10 lbs body weight
16 oz for $59.99 ($0.125 per cc OR $1.88 for a 30lb Beagle)

To Generic 50mg Pyrantel here: http://www.revivalanimal.com/Pyrantel-50mg.html
Pyrantel 50mg contains 50mg/mL Pyrantel Pamoate
Dosage: Give 1cc per 10lbs body weight (I personally prefer to dose it at 1cc per 5lbs body weight as it is VERY safe)
32oz for $31.99 ($0.035 per cc OR $0.21 for a 30lb Beagle)

You should treat the dog once, then repeat in 2-3 weeks to get rid of any worms that hatch out - this is to get rid of roundworm. To get rid of hookworm, treat three days in a row, then repeat in 2-3 weeks. I prefer to treat monthly as a preventative.

If you know your dog has worms bad you can use Nemex II up to 3 days in a row , but with that said I think you can get a lot better wormer , IMO Nemex is a pretty good puppy wormer but for an adult hound I'd use Worm-Out or something along that type of wormer . Good luck and don't mess around too long worming the dog , wormn can kill a dog in short time if not treated .

DON'T TRUST SAFEGUARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wormed a litter of pups last year. I wormed them at 2,4,6 weeks with Nemex 2. At 8 weeks I wormed them 4 days in a row, almost double dose size. Pups were not acting right so I took one to the vet. She had hook worms. I told the vet I had used Safeguard and he said he has seen many problems with Safeguard. He said the problems range from goats to dogs. The active ingredients (fenbendazole) have been around and widely used and can be ineffective. He said he would not recommend it for dogs or goats. 3 other local vets have also said this. Buy a cheap microscope and study up on what worms look like. Then no matter what you use, you can make sure it is working. Fecal smears are simple and you can save serious $$$ by doing them yourself.

Save your time and look at the suppliers on here for generic Drontal and Drontal Plus.

valbazen dewormer Hands down have had the most success. DO NOT USE ON PREGNANT BITCHES AND NEW BORN PUPS takes care of every thing except Heart. 1 squirt once a month and 3 days in a row for tape every three months, Follow weight instructions and do the math to scale down for your hound. Here is a link to where you can get it and the cheapest I have found it, best to go in with some one, cause 500ml is a ton with the amount you use. JMO
