Parvo

At what age can the vet give a pup booster shot for parvo ?? Have one dog that had parvo when she was a pup , vet fixed her up and she did fine. Bought another pup a year later and he was doing fine in the house. Up to date on 5 & 7 way shots. Put him in the kennel with other dogs and he was dead within 2 weeks. Was acting a little strange on a friday, dead sunday morn. Was told it was prob. parvo. So im not sure what i need to do. I like fooling with pups but dont want same thing to happen again. Any suggestions ?? PS The pup i am looking at is 4-5 months old. Thanks
