older bitch with pups

Guys and gals,
I have a question for breeders about anything that I need to watch for with an at least 8 year old bitch. I don't know her exact age, but she is at least 8 because I have had her 7 years and she was young then. She did not come in heat every time she should, and I thought that she was past the age to breed. Well, she is bred, and I am excited. She is starting to show, and I have raised pups before, but not with an old dog like her. I am just wondering if there is anything I need to watch for.

thanks
Jamey

My Lucy was coming 9 when she had her litter. I kept her in a lot where she could get some exercise, had her wormed and fed her a good feed but not to much. She gave me 7 healthy pups and raised them all.
Just let them get comfortable where there going to whelp in plenty of time ahead.
It don't sound like you've bred this bitch before?

she had one litter when I had had her about a year. A neighbor's Jack Russell decided to climb the fence and get in with her. That has been 6 years ago. I did not have a male that I was happy with until the last 2 years, and she has not been in heat except for once at the first of November last year, and I did not want to have her bred during the first of rabbit season. I have watched her for the last 2 years to see if she would come in and like I said in first post, she just hasn't came in heat but twice in 2 years.

If she had milk and raised them before, she should do ok this time also.
Just stay calm and let them do what they been doing long before we even knew to worry... ;)
