tops

A dealer told me it contained more salt than most feeds, therefore dogs required more water than usual. The stool will probably be greenish black. Fed it for a brief time and saw other dogs that were fed it, and my opinion is, it is just a cheap feed. I do not use tops anymore and I am now an advocate for good quality feed and have been for a long time. I have had good success with green diamond.

Fed it a few years back, dogs ate 1 pound, crapped 10 pounds. I decided to go with a better feed, or feed fewer dogs. I have fed quality feed since. Dog feed seems to be a excellent example of the old saying, "you get what you pay for". :D Mark Metts

Never heard of Tops, I use Diamond and Purina and they both work good for me.

Pride dog feed

Post by asti »

I have been using Diamond (green bag) for years. My other dogs are conformation dogs and need a more glossy fat covering than I was able to achieve with Diamond, so always had to supplement the feed.
Pride was suggested to me and I have discovered a really great feed for my dogs.

On a cold switch from regular diet and continuing, stools are small & tight, feed less and have better weight & muscle tone. Energy all over the place. Beagles tore into it like nothing flat. Past the water test very well.
(soak a half cup of feed in tap water and watch it expand - the faster and bigger it gets is a clue to its value, the more fillers the faster & bigger it swells, and to know it is doing that in the belly is a watcher for dogs subject to bloat or torsions, like the german shepherd dogs)

Ooops, sorry 'bout that, we picked up the 26/18 (green bag) been feeding almost 3 weeks now.
My 'picky' eater is now eating her full 2 1/4 cups, and have noticed muscle tone changes on three dogs so far. I really like it a lot!
