Sick dogs. Need Help

Last week I lost my 8 year old Patch male. He seemed to get down overnight, dehydrated, lethargic, and couldn't hardly breath. After 2 days of antibiotics and fluids he finally gave up. Today, I found my 1year old male , who was fine yesterday, looking like skin and bones, he too is dehydrated, lethargic, and has no appetite for food or drink.
Has anyone else seen this before and if so what did it turn out to be?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did you bring him inside?
I don't know what's wrong with the hound but he won't last in the cold and his body won't function for food or water if his body core temp is chilled.
Any hound or pup has to be warmed up before any food or water will do any good.
I always look at the stool and the hounds mouth first. Loose or bloody stool, or pale gums in the mouth.
The cold and stress can take a toll, I found once two dogs were not letting the third sleep in the house some nights so had to move him to another kennel that would accept him. This is no big deal in the warmer months, but will take a dog down when it's this cold.
Warm him up and see if he'll take water/food this evening, sometimes it takes a good long nap in the warmth to bring them back before they'll eat.
Good luck with your hound, try a little kayro syrup in some warm water to start with(sugar water).

Thanks for the info SRPatch but I have lost my young dog, hopefully this is the last one. I don't think I can stand to lose any more.
I treat my dogs better than some people treat their kids and as you well know it is tough to lose one.

Did you ever find out what was the cause of your dogs dying ? It's sounds like something that you
should have a vet look into whether your other hounds have taken sick or not .
Sorry to hear about your dogs .

Sorry to hear about your situation. These two immediate possibilities come to mind:
1. Aflatoxin poisoning from a bad batch of food;
2. Someone poisoned your dogs with antifreeze.
I am unaware of any current food recalls, so do your dogs bark a lot and would there be any neighbor near you who might do something like this?
