Weird Breeding

Has anyone ever had this happen before, on August 17 I noticed a few drops of blood on a bitch I had been waiting on to come in ( about 4 weeks past due )so I called my buddy to make arrangements to bred her to his stud. I took her to his place on August 21 and dropped her off, the 28th of August was to be her 11th day. He was feeding on August 25th and she started flagging so he grabbed his male just to see what would happen and within a few seconds they were tied. He repeated this again on the 26th and they tied again, now it gets weird, he tried again on the 28th and 29th she wouldn't stand and the stud acted like he wanted nothing to do with her so we figured I had somehow missed her cycle by several days. Then on Sept. 2 he was feeding again and noticed her flagging and thought no way so he turned his male loose and they tied within a few seconds, so he tried again on Sept. 3 and 4 and they tied both times, he gave them the 5th off and is going to try again today. Now each time they tied was an average of 18 to 31 minutes. My question is, anybody ever heard of or seen this happen and what date do I go by on when she should whelp.

I had a bitch tie on the 14 th thru the 19th day of her cycle and had her pups 63 days from the last tie. The last tie lasted an 1 hour and 10 min. She had 9 pups. Good luck!!!

I took her to the vet today for x-rays and from the looks of things she didn't take on the first breeding. The vet is going by how faint the pups spines looked so we are thinking the second mating is when she was bred but I am going to watch her from today on out just to be safe.

Sametimes they will come back in and especially so if you run the female close to when she went out of heat. The male doesn't have anything to do with it, he's always ready!!!
