I HAVE A MALE DOG THAT WAS LAID UP FOR ALMOST A YEAR.I HAVE BEEN RUNNING HIM FOR THE LAST 3 MTHS
AND AFTER EVER TIME I RUN HIM HIS FEET END UP WITH RAW SPOTS ON THEM.I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL DIFFERENT THINGS
ON HIS FEET HAPPYJACK TUFF KOTE,PAD HEAL,AND THE SPARY KIND ITS PURPLE IN COLOR.NONE OF THESE SEEM TO HELP AT ALL.MY BUDDY TOLD ME OF SOME STUFF HE USED TO USE BUT I CANT FIND IT ANYWERE.THINK IT IS CALLED TUFF STUFF OR TUFF FOOT IT IS A GEL FORM THAT GETS HARD ON THERE FEET AND YOU CAN STILL RUN THEM BUT AT THE SAME TIME THERE FEET ARE GETTING BETTER.IF ANYBODY KNOWS ABOUT THIS OR ANYTHING LIKE IT PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

You need to condition the pad and strengthen the toes again. Was the hound kept in offground kennel?
When we were boys, we used to go barefoot all summer. My little brother always had his shoes off first and could outrun me down the rock road, his foot soles were like leather.
In the spring, grandpa would call us "tenderfoots"... by mid-summer, we couldn't feel a brier in the foot for the callous hardened.
You need to condition your hounds foot the same, Nothing hardens the pad and get the hound up-on-toes like a trot down the back roads, not a fast run, but a steady trot. You don't want to weardown the pad, only toughen and thicken it as we did when we were kids... You remember the blisters you got when you did to much too soon...
