raw pads

I have a male dog that was laid up for almost a year been running him for the last 3mths
his pads get raw after ever time i run him. i have tried several different things
happy jack tuff kote ,pad heal and the spray kind its pruple in color
none of these seem to work at all. My buddy told me of some stuff that would work
and i cant seem to find it it is either called tuff stuff or tuff pad not sure but it is in a gel form
and it makes a hard layer on the dogs foot so you can run them and at the same time they will be
getting better. If anybody has any ideas please let me know he is a very good dog and would like to
get him ready for some trials this fall but i have to get his feet better first.
