LYMES DISEASE
I have a 3 yr old with lymes, had to the vet twice.Have been treating with 100mg doxycycline for 25 days. She is looking worse and vet says there is nothing he can do any sugestions. thanks Al
Re: LYMES DISEASE
How long into the treatment are you, or is it finished? I personally would suggest 100mg doxycycline every 12 hours for the first 2 weeks. If you buy your own Doxycycline make sure the date on it is still good. Can cause kidney damage if used past expiration date.

Re: LYMES DISEASE
I had to put this dog down, its been a realy bad time for me.To make a long story short,in late Nov my son took the dogs hunting this female came back to him with a dead fish.Someone had cleaned panfish and dumped the bones. Two days later she didnt eat,so I took her to the vet,he said she had a bacterial infection and put her on doxycycline for 12 days. After a week she seemed fine and a week later I took her hunting and she was back to normal leading the pack. Two weeks later she didnt seem right again and I took her to the vet again and she tested for lymes.I gave her doxycycline for 30 days along with pain meds and she just kept getting worse.I took her to the vet again and he said it affected her kidneys add there wasnt any thing he could do.I had her put down 2 days later and I bet she didnt weigh 10 lbs.I keep thinking it was my fault but relied on what the vet told me.She was a great little hound with Spicers Blue Back top and bottom.
Thanks Al
