may be a stupid question but i'm gonna ask anyway. i have several beagles that all get fed the same type of food and the same amount daily. however this particular 8 month old female has breath so bad it will knock you down. what could this be and is this normal. she is healthy and loves to hunt.. just stinks thanks

Could be that she is eating her waste. Or I am going to go out on a limb here and quote an OLD commercial (LOL)... Simple Chronic Calitosis
Being that she is only 8 months, I couldn't imagine that she has tartar built up on her teeth to cause tooth and gum problems that might lead to bad breath, if she isn't eating her own waste then I would be curious to see what Doc S has to say too.

I would wonder at that age if she may have retained baby teeth that are causing problems. There can also be metabolic problems...kidney disease/diabetes...that can cause breath changes. Doc S

well her teeth are sparkling white and dont see any signs of build up. and about the eating waste i dont think she's doing that because she's in an above ground kennel and all the waste just drops to the ground. it may have just been me but today she didnt seem to smell like she did the other day! we'll have to wait and see
