I have two pups a feist and beagle the feist is way worse than the beagle on its head the hair is real thin and starting to get scabs on it and on the beagle the hair around eyes and on front legs is real thin What could this be dont see any fleas or lice
they both seem fine as in real active and fat dont act sick WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK THIS IS AND HOW TO TREAT

Sounds like mites. Could be scabies or demodectic - which is less severe. I'm guessing it's demodectic; these mites are usually found on puppies or dogs with weak immune systems. Scabies is very itchy; demodectic mange is usually not. The scabies mites are hard to find and can be contagious to humans. The demodectic mites stay on the dog. Ivermectin is generally used and can be given by mouth or injection. It should be repeated after 10-14 days. Selamectin (Revolution) has also been reported effective at curing mange. You can't see either mite with the naked eye, so the vet will have to take a skin scrape and view it under a microscope.

Actually, sulphur is the primary active ingredient in Nu-Stock

You can also get 100% pure, concetrated sulphur in a dip form which is likewise extremely effective:

My concern with Lusake's situation is the fact two of his unrelated hounds have the problem. Generally, demodex is thought to be genetic/immune-related, so if two distinct separate pups of different breed types have it, the problem might actually be sarcoptic mange or even fungal in nature. Either way, the sulphur (Nu-Stock) will handle the problem.

However, if the problem is demodex, and both pups have fauty immune systems, then the underlying problem might actually be in their diet. If you are feeding one of the cheaper corn-, wheat-, and/or gluten-based kibbled feeds, you might be breaking down your own animals with low budget feeding practices. Some dogs can take low budget feeds, but I have seen others completely fall apart when fed these kinds of "feed store" diets.

Owners will spend all kinds of money on "topical medications" to treat what is essentially the symptoms of a dietary insufficiency ...

I mixed up my own --used --sulpfur---pine oil ---vicks vapor rub ---I use it for about any thing-- small cut--wire cuts --etc. ---you name it ---sure works good for me

Thanks for all the replys I have some stuff called ISP ointment that has the same ingrediants as the Nu Stock except it has 2% iodine in it going to try it have used it on hot spots with great results see this product at http://www.garvinsisp.com it is made right over the hill from my favorite running site
I feed Pride 24/20 all my dogs do great on it Idont believe it has anything to due with the feed dogs are healthy and fat also I forgot to mention these two pups are penned together and none of my other dogs have any sign of looseing hair

You could spritz on some organic unstrained apple cider vinegar, good for skin problems...
