Does anyone here use the to control fleas , ticks on dogs. How well does it work , how much does it cost and how many come in a bag or however?
Also like to know if they are chewed off by kennel mates easily?
Thanks
Chad

Go to Tractor Supply or your local feed and seed store. They come in various quantities, active ingredients, and varying strengths. They normally run around a dollar or two each if you buy ten or more. They are much cheaper than a flea collars and seem a bit more effective. They help but I would not count on them alone. I definitely would not leave them dangling or put them on a dog that is kenneled with a young dog that still chews alot. Some folks slit them and slide them on the collar. I wrap them around the collar (sandwiching them between the layers when possible) and secure them with small plastic zip ties. If I see that one dog is having more ticks or fleas than the others, I replace their tag with a fresh one.

I used the purple ones last year and wasn't bothered with fleas or ticks and I ran my dogs thru the summer months. I got mine at Tractor Supply and I think they were around $30 for a box but I don't remember how many were in a box but they worked great. I just doubled mine over and used the ear tag gun to staple them together and slid them over the collar but I kennel all my dogs seperate so I didn't have a problem with dogs chewing them off. After last years results I am getting ready to put some more on my dogs now because believe it or not I saw some ticks on one of my buddies dogs last week.

I use the purple ones --best way is compare the % of the ingredients and what is the ingredients is ----i think the small ones don't have as much in them as the big ones --for like small calfs or goats

And I am also to understand that if you wrap it around the collar it is ok for the tag to remain in contact with the fur on the dog?

cajunmeadows2 that is the way I do mine and it hasn't hurt the dogs at all and I know several others that do the same thing.
