Re: EMT Gel
LIQUAMYCIN® LA-200® (oxytetracycline injection) is a sterile, ready-to-use solution for the administration of the broad-spectrum antibiotic oxytetracycline (TERRAMYCIN®) by injection. TERRAMYCIN, discovered by Pfizer scientists, is an antimicrobial agent that is effective in the treatment of a wide range of diseases caused by susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Basically, an antibiotic we use instead of penicilin. I have found quite a few dogs are allergic to pen-aqueous, so we use LA-200. Duravet makes a generic call 72-200 that is alot cheaper. I have actually used this on a pup that had parvo 5 years ago and it pulled it through. It has been a wonderful alternative to keep in the fridge just in case. Here is what the website syas it can be used for "on cattle". Of course there is no recommended use for dogs.
LIQUAMYCIN LA-200 is approved for:
The treatment of pneumonia and shipping fever complex associated with Pasteurella spp. and Hemophilus spp.; infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (pinkeye) caused by Moraxella bovis; footrot and diphtheria caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum; bacterial enteritis (scours) caused by Escherichia coli; wooden tongue caused by Actinobacillus lignieresii; leptospirosis caused by Leptospira pomona; and wound infections and acute metritis caused by strains of staphylococci and streptococci organisms sensitive to oxytetracycline.

Re: EMT Gel
Do you think the LA -200 would help out with kennel cough ? If so how much would you administer?
Re: EMT Gel
FRANCO----I use LA 200 and TYLAN 200----for kennel cough---I give it in the mouth about 2cc --LA in the morning and TYLAN at night ---but kennel cough still has to run it's course ---both are for respiratory--and shipping fever
ALWAY GO BY THE RULES AND NEVER A PROBLEM

cut the toe off of a tube sock and===blood stop -for a bad tore ear use blood stop flod the ear over and pull sock over head just above the eyes--- to keep the dog from shakeing it head and ears will stop bleeding
another good thing for small cuts is SULFUR AND VAPOER VICKS RUB MIXED TOGETHER --SOME ADD A LITTLE PINE OIL
