anyone ever had this happen

ok i had a litter of six pups they were 7 weeks old i have wormed them regularly and was giving them there first shots yesterday i bought 6, 8 in 1 shots with corona my wife gave them to the pups at around 3pm yesterday evening before and a couple hour after they showed no signs of anything they were playing eating drinking no diarha no blood in there stool a couple hours later one of the males looked like he started having cezures i brought him inside and put him in a crate to watch him to see if would do any better he died about four hours after he was givin his shot i check the other pups ever couple hours till i went to bed they seemed like they were doing fine no problems yet i woke up this morning and got ready for work wasnt expecting what i found when i went out to check all the other pups were dead. know i have kept them in a house with a whelping pad and a older female not there mother for about a week were the nights have been cold like i said they wee fine till after they were given shots just wi=ondering if anyone had any ideas i dont have the money to due an atopsy

Contact the company that manufactured the vaccines. There may have been something wrong with the vaccine. Maybe freeze 1pup in case they are willing to necropsy. Sorry to hear about your bad luck. 8 way may have been to hard on them for their age.

the 8 ways is all i have ever given and never had a problem ill do that and contact the company

When I worked at vets I have seen some vaccine companys compensate when dogs had allergic reaction. Worth a shot.

If it had been only one pup, might have been a freak thing, but for all of them to die, it sounds like the vaccine was bad. I know some Fort Dodge vaccines were recalled a few years ago, so it does happen that some batches are problematic.
Do you mind if I ask what brand vaccine this was?

where did ya get your shots at a feed store or ordered them im shure ya know if they are not kept refridgerated the shots will go bad loosing that many pups sucks for shure hope ya get soimething worked out with mfg co jb

they were fort dodge vaccines yeah i know if they aint kept refered they go bad thats why i had to by them i lost 15 vaccines that i ordered threw revival when we got the ice storm first of the month and lost power

IMHO, I think you loaded up their system too much for their age(the immune systen was too underdeveloped and the numbers induced were over-whelming). i only do 5-way shot(puppy shot) the first two shots, then, 7-way. I've never given an 8-way shot but think it would come at about 16 weeks or older.
When we lost power, I set the shots outside w/ ice pack, inside a foam cooler. That should keep them cool but yet not allow them to freze...

ive never had a problem with giving pups the 8 ways ive gave every pup i have ever raisede 8 way shot starting as soon as they were wheaned but here the last few years i have ordered them threw revival and have had no problem to be honest this isnt the first time i have lost pups with buy shots from this feed store years ago i lost a couple put that were given there shots from here matter fact same brand if my mind is right but the never went into covulsions they ended up getting parvo and died a couple days latter my wife picked up these shot teusday cause they were needing them was the only reason they were bought there never agian will i buy any shots there nor will i ever buy that manufactorers shots

i told by a vet,sometime the pups are born with no immune system.the puppies shot will kill these kinds of pups.he also said even if they didnt get the shot they would die before they are a year old any way.

Anaphylactic shock can occur in dogs with any kind of shots, including boosters and even penicillin. The antidote is epinephrine.

The statistical probability of it happening to a whole litter, however, seems very small. I would suggest it was a bad batch, for which (yes) you should receive fair compensation. However, a necropsy would be in order to establish cause. No vet product company will cough-up money without established proof.

I am sorry for your loss. That is a terrible thing, to have brand new beautiful pups, finally just off the mama, and then to wake up to them dead and gone

yeah i hate lossing any age dog but a small put even more i have a big heart and it gets me down

The old country vet says corona is a sham by vets/manufacturers any way, that is basically is a made up disease to sell more vaccines, so I would stay away from those even though it probably wasn't your problem.
