dogs feet splitting open
My dogs pads on his feet are splitting open like their drying out. Hes getting real touchy about where he walks. Ive tried some foot prep, seems to burn or hurt but hasnt been helping him. Is there anything i can put on them to moisturize them or put on them to make it feel better?

I do ---tuff pad and koppertox ---works as a liguid bandage ---don't get it on you --GREEN is hard to get off

ALWAY GO BY THE RULES AND NEVER A PROBLEM
Re: dogs feet splitting open
be careful using Koppertox and Tuf_fFoot if as you say the hounds feet are "drying" out. both will dry the feet if used to much. i have field trialed running walkers for 25+ years and the foxpens are tough on feet. we used the Kppertox/tuf-ffot to dry up a cut/torn pad but the best and cheapest way we found for dry feet and healing all cuts is Preperation H. we use it in all cuts, from the hog dogs to running walkers and now on the beagles. it will reduce swelling, heal pad and add moisture content to pad. another good softner is Udder Bag Balm.
i know alot more remedies for feet but they get pretty involved and we usually just treid to stay away from the breeds that usually showed up with more foot problems.
