Edges of ears in bad shape

My male was in a running pen for a few days a couple of weeks ago. He ran hard and was wore out for 2 or 3 days after. I wormed him the day he came out , and have been keeping a close eye on him. I noticed yesterday that the edges of his ears look like they are crusty and almost look like they are rotting away. Does anyone know what this is and have a remedy or any suggestions. He is only a little over a year old and one of my best dogs.

Thanks,
Bill

Common bleach (Clorox) cut 50/50 with water in a spray bottle, applied daily will cure it in a hurry.
