I am trying to do it myself and save some $$$$. I went to a rabies clinic and got my beagles their rabies shots. I want to order the other shots they need on an annual basis. What shots do I need to give them annualy, and can I get them online and do it yself??? How about heartworm preventative, can I get that online??

I use Ivermectin 1% cattle and swine solution for heartworm give 1/10 cc per ten pounds body weight. you should be able to get a 50 cc bottle for around 37.00 as far as shots a good 7-way ought to do the job. you can get them for anywhere from 3.00 to 5.00 and you should be able to find the ivermectin and shots at any farm supply or good dog supply store.

do you give the Ivermectin shot monthly??

Yeah once a month, I give it orally usally just squirt it on a small piece of bread or whatever. you can also put half in each ear if you ever have problems with ear mites it'll get rid of them suckers too.
One thing you might want to consider is if you have an older dog that you don't know for sure has been on heartworm preventive is to find out one way or the other cause if by chance it does have heartworm the ivermect will kill it same as putting it on heartworm pills.
I was at the vet a couple days ago and a friend of mine from church came in to get heartworm plills for a rotweiller and the vet told me that the active ingredient in the heartworm pills he just sold was ivermectin... goe figure they don't tell you you can just give ivermectin 1%, also I know it is safe to give it to beagles and other breeds but I think it will kill a collie or greyhound. Just something to keep in mind
