I have ran across some Nature's Recipe lamb and rice puppy food that is a little out of date. The 40# bag is selling for $10 and it is $36.99 at a local farm store. My question is, do you think it will hurt the hounds. It is not buggy and seems to smell good. Just wondering what yall's opinion is.

I wouldn't worry about it with adults. The vitamin levels may be down some. Mix it with your regular food for adults. I personally wouldn't want to risk it for young puppies because of the vitamin levels etc. I would buy all they have and mix it. I was in the feed business in a big way for many years. I would feed out of date and broken bags myself. I eat food that is a little out of date sometimes. It doesn't hurt me.

In a flat second I would buy it. With the way prices are and thats not bad food to feed either. I would just monitor their coat real well and their weight. Expired dog food is like expired human food....It is still good most of the time you just can't sell it after a certain date

Hey Crabby it is right up from where I work. Saturday they had 300 bags or so. Seems like a real good deal. Fed it today and the dogs like it. It is a 25-protein and 15-fat, 3.5% moisture. No corn, no soy, no wheat, no beef. Give me a holler if you want me to tell ya where it is. Just don't buy it all!

Dang man, too bad they don't have that in MO..... I would buy at least 20 bags.....and I only have 2 dogs at the moment

We have bought 26 bags...all we can afford right now . Hope they do well.

I ran into a deal like that at the H. T. Hackney store here in Richmond, Ky last year. They had several different brands of food and my buddie and I got enough to feed us for about four months for $10.00 per bag. Wish I was close to you. I would load up. Most of what we got was Sport Mix.
