I have two male hounds that everytime i run them i see them spending a lot of time eating grass. Ive seen dogs do this from time to time before but never like this. It is cutting into there hunt. They have been wormed and are being fed Black Gold feed. Should I try a new brand of feed?

I herd that dogs eat grass to settle their stomach.

Usually it's dogs kept in a kennel where they can't get to any grass, they all do it just some worse than others

Mine just started doing it once it got hot. A fella at the club where I run said they do it when they are thirsty. Mine has plenty of access to grass so atleaste for him it is not from being kenneled. A good friend of mine who is a vet tech said that it is not good for them to eat it because the blades of grass can cut the stomach and intestines

I've seen it occassionally also. My dogs get out of the kennels daily to run around the farm even if I'm not running them and they'll do it. Never had a problem.
