Hello,
They say pups born before 58 days will probably not survive. We have a mutual breeder who has had them born before that date and they were fine though. Go to http://www.powerscourt-cockers.com/Preg ... lender.htm
You can go to this web page and plug in the date of breeding and the sire and dams names. You can print out a calender that will take you through the date whelp. It has alot of good information on it.
Good Luck ;)

Hi lyn! I did use the whelping calendar you are talking about and you're right it is really cool. The due date is the 5th of october but she looks soooo big! I'm freakin' out.

Earliest day for me has been 56 days and the longest is 67 days. I was walking the floor by then. The vet said to bring her in if she got to 70 days. :???:
Pups were all fine.

Our Dolly bitch delivers on the 58th day. She did this last litter when she had 10 pups. She raised them all. I thought it might be a fluke, so I was extra attentive to the date this time around. She delivered 11 pups at 58 days. 2 were stillborn, but normal size, one died within 24 hours and the other 8 are 4-week-old heathens now.

She has huge litters - I'm guessing she just runs out of room at 58 days, lol!

Hey Andy,
I love that calender. You can use it to keep akc records as to the date of mating. Nine more days to go. I am sure things will be ok. Let us know how it turns out. Congrats!!!

58 to 68 days is considered "normal." You may have some go even a few days beyond this. Actual whelping ALWAYS occurs 63 days from their lueteinizing hormone peak. Sperm is viable for about 5 days, and the eggs are fertilizable for about 3 days. That is why there is so much variation. Doc S

:D Hi every one ! Well, Dixie had her pups on friday afternoon. She had 6 males and 2 females ! All went without a problem and Everyone is healthy so far. They are very active and squeeky :) Mama seems almost overwhelmed but adjusting very well.they didn't really end up too early since they were due on monday. I'll be keeping my site updated as I am keeping all the males until they grow up and get trained, I would be keeping them all but I made a deal  thanx for the help!!
