My one pup Lexy is 8months old, it seems like her eyes are always watering. And they get this mucuosy discharge in them, and then it sometimes run's down her face.

I always wipe it off whenever I see it. I wiped it off today and put some visine in her eyes.

I'm not sure what it is and if anyone has any suggestions let me know. Has anyone seen this before?? Is there anything to stop it?? I had her at the vet and she didn't say anything about it.

It could be a whole lot of things. Have her eyes always been like this? If so, could be distichia (extra eyelashes) or Entropian (eyelashes folded in) or clogged tearducts, What is she kenneled on? concrete, dirt,gravel? Did you specifically ask the vet to look at the eyes? If this is a new thing for her it could be allergies,or if its been windy and she has dirt in her eyes? could be clogged ducts, could be food allergy or just a simple infection. Do you have some terramycin ointment for eyes?

They've been like this for a few months. How do you know if it is the eyelashes?? She is in an aboveground kennel on plastic lattice. I didn't specifically ask the vet to look at her eyes as she looked the whole dog over so I figured if something was wrong she'd see it. No I don't have terramycin ointment. What does that do??

I would specifically take her to a vet for the eyes. when you roll the bottom lid down do you see folded in eyelashes? The extra eyelashes are really hard to see. you probably need an antibiotic eye ointment. if you don't have any you can use neosporin (PLAIN) not the kind with pain meds in it.. just plain triple antibiotic. She could be having some allergies to pollen.

I'd guess she has a somewhat loose lower eyelid.
I've had a couple with this problem and they were always the first to be affected by any irritant.
You just have to take special care to keep their eyes flushed and a little salve put in after running.
West River patch chevy had this ailment and made his daughter SR patch Beanie prone to watery eyes.
Like any other showing weakness you want to breed away from it when making your breeding selection of a mate. I believe if you allow it to continue in the breeding the chances of your puppies developing cherry eyes will be greater. If you breed her, find a male with no known eye problems.

I'm going to check her eyes tonight to see if I can see the extra eyelashes that you are talking about.

Does anyone know where I can get Terramycin Ointment it seems like everyone is out of it. I'll put some neosporin on it for now.

When I checked her tonight her one eye was fine. And the other I could see where the eye lid had like folded in and the eye lashes were rubbing on her eye like you said. I put eye drops in both eyes and then rubbed neosporin on them. They seemed fine after that.

If that eyelid is like that all the time it needs a surgical repair. Its really not that complicated but, otherwise her eye will be scratched constantly. Its called Entropian.

Windkist, somedays its like that and some days it isn't. It seems like its been getting better since i've been putting the Neosporin on them.
