I have a dog that has been in the hospital sence Monday. They thought he had pneumonia at first. Now they think it is a tumor on the lung. What is his chance of getting better if the vet removes the tumor ? I don`t know how they will remove it . They do kemo there. I don`t know if he is strong enough to withstand a operation. I just lost his littermate last week by a accident. Today is there birthday . Do the tumers allways come back and if so how long does it take and or they all canseres ? Thanks

Hey Doc
I found out Dodger has blastomycosis . He was at the Greater Cincinnati Veterinary Specialty and is coming home tomorrow. I need to give him one pill a day for 3 to 5 months . The cheepest price my wife could fine them for are $125 a month and they will make him sterile. Do you know where I might get the pills cheeper ?

Blasto is a hard disease to deal with in any creature. $125 per month for the anti-fungal meds sounds about right. Just be glad it is beagle, and not a large dog like a lab! Best of luck. Doc S

Doc,
Dog affected with Blasto-
My dog is very weak - tries to eat but doesn't seem to have the strength. Should I try to "force feed" him or give him Nutra-cal or pedialyte or similar product?

Thanks for your help.

Yes...He needs fluids and nutrition from some source. I have in the past hospitalized these dogs on i.v. fluids for several days at the start of treatment. Doc S
