ivomec for hook worms?

will it get ride of hook worms? i gave him .03 cc last night may buy some difrent today and treat all the hounds, i almost bet this male has ben dealing with this for awhile. i have 1 female bread. and i am always always alittle scared to give it to pregnat female.

That dosage is more like a heartworm dosage. The dosage for round and hook worms is generally 1/10 cc per ten pounds. Most of my beagles are 20 to 25 lbs and would require 0.2 CC's to 0.25 CC's. I would not give the bred female any type of wormer until the pups are born. How have you determined it is hookworm? Blood in the stool can mean hook OR whips. Ivomec is not very effective against whipworms - even at the higher dosage. I would give broader spectrum wormer such as Safeguard or Drontal Plus. Best wishes!
