can you give a female something to bring her in season. if so, is it fairly safe and what would be the average cost for a typical treatment be? reason i ask is i have an older (8) female who doesnt cycle regular. want to breed her again and would like to do it this fall but she isnt cooperating  . dont want to risk her health, hoping there was something easy to do.

We can keep them out of heat, but as of yet there is not a readily available, practical method to "bring them in." Doc S

some ppl i know say to use apple cider vinager to bring them in cycle! but that is a dose of 2 tablespoons a day. til they come in good luck trying to get them to take it. and it helps on flea's and ticks if the do drink it.

There is a shot the vets here will give that will bring your dog in heat or if it is in heat and gets accidently bred, they will give the same shot and it deletes the breeding if given a short time after its getting bred. Bad part is it keeps the dog in heat about a week longer than a normal heat.

Cost about $15.00
