As much as you don't want to you need to have a vet clean her teeth. Most of the bad smell is probably coming from gingivitis. Dogs get pockets in their gums like we do which catches food particles and those start to stinking. Even if she has a bad tooth the rest need cleaning and if she had a bad infection she probably wouldn't feel good. IF her mouth is full of tartar pulling one tooth won't do much good ;) I doubt it is affecting her fertility but, I suppose it could.

Just took a male to the vet and his mouth was full of infection. He ran fine, lots of energy, ate well, didn't seem sick at all. Only sympton was holding his head a little to one side. Although no infection showed in his blood work(thank heavens), has to be on antibotics week before teeth can come out. Don't know if infection would interfere with conception/ gestation, but why chance having your bitch having any kind of infection if she catches? I have to wonder if infection can go into the blood, couldn't it affect the fetus :?: Wouldn't it be worth taking her to the vet?
